Digital Building 2001

This 3D animation represents a fixed shot of a sporting contest podium. The two competitors appearing on the screen are two "dummies" who are the spitting image of actual bodybuilders posing. Despite the scene's hyper-realistism (music, lighting, screening at human scale), their faces remain without expression and their muscles do not bulge. All through the video the tension rises and the rivalry reaches its climax when one of the models takes a crowbar to mangle his opposent. The scene's violence is tempered by its fictitious nature, which stands out when the mannequin rises with its head half torn off to finish the contest. Virtuality intertwineded with realism is meant to refer to our social environment.
