Young ARTIST

This video depicts a man alone, dressed in work attire, building a contemporary art center starting from the demolition of the previous building to its complete renovation. His figure is imprecise, his face remains unknown, the only indication of his identity is the inscription "jeune ARTISTE" (young ARTIST) stamped on the back of his jacket. Hence, differentiating him from a construction worker and asserting his status of young artist working on his latest artwork. The video questions the artist's status in society, his utility and his legitimacy as a creator. The medium also questions the artwork's status within the exhibition's space. The video's installation is meant to be broadcasted in a loop during an exhibition.
