Golden hourglassTheGolden hourglasssculpture was commissioned by the Mucem of Marseille for its "Or" (Gold) exhibition in 2018. The artist chose to pair his creativity to the skillfulness of craftsmen.Golden hourglassseems extracted from an atlas. The artwork portrays the Mediterranean sea and though the hourglass, embodies the artist's fascination for complex tools that measure time. Mastery of time is symbolized in theGolden hourglassby the perpetual flow of sand from one end of the Mediterranean to the other by the means of a rotating mechanical system of rollover of the sphere. |
